Christ the Good Shepard- Buzuruga Mwanza became a meeting point for young people as the Youth Convention brought together youth from different Parishes in Tanzania where Claretian Missionaries are currently working. The theme of the convention is: Live Holy, Do Holy (1Cor 7: 17). The youth, totalling 141 from Mwanza, Bunda, Musoma, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro and Njombe, turned up for Faith, moral and livelihood formation.

The gathering provided an important opportunity for young people to come together, share experiences, strengthen friendships and reflect on their role in building a better Church and society. One of the major strengths of a youth convention is its ability to bring together young people from different backgrounds. Such encounters help break down barriers and create spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding. The experience of previous youth conventions in Tanzania has shown how prayer, evangelization, sports, seminars, service and economic empowerment can become practical avenues through which young people build meaningful relationships and grow together.

The convention is expected to create memories that extend beyond the days of the gathering. Friendships established in Mwanza can become networks of solidarity, collaboration and service in parishes, communities, schools and workplaces. In this sense, the Youth Convention is not simply an event; it is an investment in the present and future of young people.
