Blessing of Adoration Chapel and Grotto at St.Claret Parish Michungwani ,Dar

On 15th February 2026, St. Claret Parish Michungwani marked a joyful and historic occasion with the solemn blessing of its newly constructed Adoration Chapel and Grotto by Rev. Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa’ichi, O.F.M. Cap Archbishop of Dar es Salaam. The celebration coincided with the first anniversary of the blessing of the parish church making the event a double moment of thanksgiving and grace for the entire faith community.

The ceremony began with the official opening and blessing rites, attended by clergy, religious, and a large gathering of parishioners. The new Adoration Chapel is intended to provide a sacred space for silent prayer and Eucharistic devotion, while the Grotto stands as a place of Marian reflection and spiritual consolation. Both structures symbolize the parish’s growing commitment to deepening spiritual life and fostering devotion among the faithful.

Following the blessing, Holy Mass was celebrated in thanksgiving for God’s continued blessings upon the parish during the past year. In his homily, the presiding celebrant encouraged the faithful to make full use of the new prayer spaces, emphasizing that such sacred places help believers strengthen their relationship with God and find peace amid daily challenges.

The celebration concluded with an agape meal shared by all parishioners, expressing unity, joy, and gratitude. The atmosphere was filled with songs of praise, fellowship, and renewed commitment to parish life.

This memorable event not only highlighted the spiritual growth of the community but also strengthened the bond among the faithful in the city of Dar es Salaam. Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Abel CMF  expressed heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the successful completion of the chapel and grotto, noting that their dedication and generosity made the project possible.

The day will be remembered as a milestone in the history of the parish—a celebration of faith, unity, and hope for the future.
