Mission of CMF East Africa

The mission of the Claretian Missionaries East Africa (CMF EA)

is to evangelize through the Word of God, forming communities that are spiritually, socially, and economically empowered in line with the vision of Saint Anthony Mary Claret.

We serve Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda with a strong focus on:

Bible-centered evangelization Missionary formation Empowerment of the laity Community transformation Justice, peace, and environmental stewardship

CMF East Africa Delegation: Activities & Presence
Formation & leadership development:

In October 2024, the delegation held a “Claretian Discerning Leadership” workshop in Nairobi, focusing on spiritual formation and decision‑making for 22 Claretian members

New leadership team:

As of late 2023, Fr. Joy Joseph Mampilikunnel, CMF, was appointed Major Superior, alongside a team of consultors guiding the delegation’s work

Parish outreach:

The Delegation oversees multiple parishes, including St. Charles Lwanga Parish in Uganda’s Mbarara Diocese (founded 2011), and others across East Africa
